An Appeal For Building fund.

 

Respected Members of Thiruvalluvar Foundation,

 

You may be aware that Thiruvalluvar Foundation was formed by educated and social mined people like you to serve and guide the poor and needy children to complete their education and to spread social awareness among Adi-Dravidar Community.  We have carried our many tasks like

  1. providing free note books and uniforms,
  2. providing merit Awards and  scholarship,
  3. conducting free coaching classes to municipal school children
  4. conducting career guidance and counseling,
  5. efficiently managing matrimonial activities,
  6. arranging family get together to create unity and
  7. published newsletters and Kalvikkadal magazine free of cost to create social awareness, etc.

 

All these activities were possible with your full support and co-operation.  We are very much thankful to you for supporting our scheme “One Rupee Fund”.  We could collect sufficient money in this scheme to carry out charity and administrative activities.

 

Even though, Thiruvalluvar Foundation is functioning efficiently, we do not have an office premise.  Since the prices of real estate shoot up, we cannot purchase a flat/shop which cost more than 20 lacs.  We are forced to purchase a room in a chawl.

 

Our committee has identified a room at Sion-Kalakilla area which is convenient for all the members residing at Western and Central suburb areas.  The cost of the rooms varies from 10 lacs to 12 lacs.

 

We have only 4 lacs in our fixed deposits.  Hence, our committee has decided to get a donation or loan from members to purchase an office premise.  The committee has proposed the following:

  1. Obtain a donation of Rs.5000/- or more from each members.  The donated amount will be eligible for Income Tax Exemption under section 80G. OR
  2. Obtain a loan (without interest) of Rs.5000/- or more from each members.  The loan amount collected from members will be refunded without interest in the following years.

You may be agree that office is very much necessary for any institution to function efficiently.  The premises of Tamil Sangam and Shanmugananda Hall are built by the contribution by members/donors.

 

In this regard, we have called a “SPECIAL GENERAL BODY MEETING” on 30/08/2009 .  We request you to attend the meeting and convey your approval and suggestion.  We are sure that your contribution and support will boost our Foundation to function more efficiently.
